Coastal Plains Baptist Area was formed in 1964 when the San Felipe Baptist Association joined the Colorado Baptist Association in a formal partnership.

During these years, San Felipe did not have a Director of Missions.  The District Missionary for this region of Texas was called on from time to time to help fulfill the duties of a Director.
