Darrell Horn

Executive Director of Missions

Darrell joined SFBA as the Executive Director on November 1, 2004 after serving with the International Mission Board for 9 years in Venezuela and Mexico City. He served as a pastor and other ministry positions prior to IMB appointment. He and Karen have three girls, two boys, one son in-law, two daughter in-laws, and three grandchildren. Darrell earned a BA and a BS from Oklahoma Baptist University, a MDivBl and a Doctor of Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he currently teaches as an adjunct mission professor on the Houston campus.

Sam Waltman

Church Planting Strategist

Sam joined the SFBA staff on October 1, 2007.  He is originally from Houston and is a graduate of Texas A&M University (1978) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1985). Before coming to San Felipe, Sam pastored mission churches in Pennsylvania for ten years before returning to Texas to pastor at FBC Winona in the Tyler area and West Oaks Baptist Church in Houston.  Sam and his wife, Beth, have three grown children and two grandchildren.  In their spare time, they enjoy family trips to the Texas Hill Country.  Sam is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree with a missions leadership emphasis from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

 

Debbie Hodges

Administrative Assistant

Debbie joined SFBA on March 15, 2010.  She has lived in Sugar Land for almost 40 years. She was previously in an optometry practice for 32 years.  Debbie and her husband, Barry, have a son, a daughter, a daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren.  She is also on staff at Great Oaks Baptist Church, as worship leader, where Barry also serves playing piano and guitar.  They enjoy music and traveling.

The San Felipe Baptist Association and the Colorado Baptist Association dissolved the Coastal Plains Baptist Area in June 2006 after 42 years faithful partnership.

Harold Sellers

Executive Director Emeritus - deceased

Harold Sellers served as the Associate Director of Coastal Plains Baptist Area (formal partnership between the San Felipe Baptist Association and the Colorado Baptist Association) from 1984 to 1986 and the as Director of CPBA from 1987 to 2004.  Harold retired from CPBA at the end of December 2004.

Bro Harold Sellers passed away on Friday September 23, 2011.  His funeral took place on Monday September 26, 2011 at the Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville.  You can contact Margaret at the address, phone number or email below.

Coastal Plains Baptist Area was formed in 1964 when the San Felipe Baptist Association joined the Colorado Baptist Association in a formal partnership.

1954 to 1964

During these years, San Felipe did not have a Director of Missions.  The District Missionary for this region of Texas was called on from time to time to help fulfill the duties of a Director.
