Cooperative Intern Program
02.12.2009
Darrell

Southwestern Seminary Houston Campus wishes to enter into a partnership with interested churches in an on-going Intern Program that will match churches with students. It will address the needs of churches in need of pastor or staff help, and of students who need “experience” in ministry. The seminary already has courses called Internships or Practicums in which a student receives seminary credit for work done in a ministry setting. The Cooperative Intern Program is a working agreement between a church and the seminary in which: The seminary agrees to provide the church with names of available students [subject, of course, to the availability of students]. The church agrees to employ student interns on a regular basis [subject to change, of course]. An important feature of the Intern Program is that the student can choose to receive seminary course credit for the work when certain requirements are met [explained below]. If seminary credit is not desired, the church and student can make their own arrangements. Click here to view the document
